A competent-but-flat chapter of the Hawkeye story from the team of Mark Gruenwald and Brett Breeding. This series finds Hawkeye, aka Clint Barton, trying to make his way in the world as a solo hero, out of the shadow of the Avengers. Currently working as head of security for Cross Electronics (ironically a major competitor for Stark Industries), Hawkeye's apparently blissful life on his own soon falls apart. An "Avengers" comic from with a focus on Hawkeye and a "Marvel Team Up" from featuring Spider-Man and Mockingbird do little to add to the collection. This book basically rests on Gruenwald's four issue mini-series. Fans of Hawkeye should like it though he generally does better with an ensemble cast around him than on his own.
